A Celebration of Life

Today we had to say goodbye to a beloved member of the Kneifl family.

Rambo has been a part of our lives for 13 wonderful years. He's one of the most loyal and trustworthy dogs I've ever been around. He wanted to do nothing but please everyone at all times. Everlee and him got to be really good friends as she became more and more mobile and curious. He didn't mind it when she crawled all over him, and poked him in his eyes and ears. He just took it all with a grain of salt, because he knew she was just an energetic 1 year old, and that's his demeanor. Always has been.

Him and Zella were a great team when it came to bird hunting and looking after one another. I have many fond memories of watching him work the fields with genuine enthusiasm. It was heaven for him.

He has struggled with his breathing lately because of laryngeal paralysis (common condition for large breed dogs as they age) and recently spent a week in the animal ER recuperating. We knew his respiratory disorder would be an ongoing issue at times, but wanted to make sure he lived his final days in his own household getting plenty of love and attention. We wanted to be around him so he knew that we loved and cared about him.

With heavy hearts, we find satisfaction and healing in the fact that he’s sitting next to Zella again, his lifelong friend and companion.

We love you and we'll miss you, Rambo.

Rest in Peace friend.
