Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Christmas Eve we headed over to the Smith family's house for some yummy eats, adult beverages, and great company. The kids had such fun playing together, and the adults had a good time chatting, laughing, and swapping stories. Sounds like we all had quite the week, so it was nice being able to relax and blow off some steam. Thanks Smiths for hosting.
Christmas morning my two favs slept in while mommy prepared breakfast, and got ready for our beautiful morning together. Everlee must have been a very good girl, because she not only did she get an indoor trampoline, but also got her very own kindle, and a slew of other gifts. Mommy and daddy must have been good this year, as we both received wonderful gifts as well. But, I think we both agree that the best gift of all, is our precious daughter. We love seeing
this special holiday thru her eyes, love spending our morning together, and love watching our favorite gift, experience all the holiday has to offer.
So sad her brand new kindle was charging :(
It's up and running!! Now a lesson from daddy on how to work the non I pad device.

New trampoline in her play room. What a huge hit! It's going to come in handy on some of these cold winter days, when we stay indoors, and this busy red head needs to exert some energy.
After Evs and daddy woke up from the afternoon naps, we headed over to the DeVos household for gift opening, and more family time. Thanks Brig and Steve for hosting! We have so much fun hanging out at your new digs!
Chloe taking Evs for a joy ride on Coopers new ride. What a hit!
Two Christmases down, two to go. Such a busy time of year, and I'm thankful all travels will be super close to home!

Enjoying daddy time

My two favs snuggled up and enjoying one another's company, while daddy is on his Christmas vacation.

Weekend with Grandparents

Last weekend while daddy was hunting, Everlee and I had lots of fun with two sets of grandparents. Friday we had a sleep over at poppa Rudy and Grandma Coco's. We had so much fun singing, dancing, playing the guitar, piano, eating pizza, going out for pancakes, and playing in the bubbles! Nice having a slumber party when daddy is gone, our house feels so different when he leaves, and without our big dog here helping us feel safe.
Pantless dance party for Evs!
Dinner time sillies.
Little shopping at Cracker Barrel.
Bubble time with poppa and Coco! Thanks for having us over for the night. We had a blast!
Sunday afternoon Grandpa Greg and Grandma Jan came over and hung out with us two ladies until daddy got home from hunting. We did lots of paying laughed, ate a yummy Chinese jade garden dinner, and spent time just catching up! We are glad they are back for an extended holiday break, and look forward to seeing them during there visit!
That night When I put Evs to bed, I went into the playroom next to her room, and I heard some noises coming from her room. I went to look in the monitor to see what was going on, noticed she had taken this giraffe blanket off of her glider ottoman, and tucked herself in. This was a first, as she has always gone to bed with just her Lovey and binky. The blanket has stayed in her bed since then. What a sweet big girl!

Time slow down

Mommy and daddy have been chatting the past couple weeks about converting Evs crib to the next step convertible crib/bed. It was brought up again Thursday, how we were going to look into bumper rails, measurements and child safety for Evs bed, and low and behold daddy comes up the steps with the next new piece for the crib. My heart sunk, as I realized this was going to happen today, and she was another step closer to moving into toddlerhood. I wasn't ready, I needed mental preparation, I needed more time seeing that precious baby crib, and what I really needed was time to slow down, and freeze, so that I could clinge onto my baby. Well daddy knew what needed to be done, and if it were up to mommy, Evs probably would be in elementary school, still sardined into a baby crib. Down came the high rails, and on went the new piece. Now mommy had tears filling her eyes, a bit of a heavy feeling in her heart, and a case of the dizzies. One more step to a becoming a big girl, and this big girl was all too eager to hop right in her new sleeping arrangement.
Sleeping beauty in her crib. And yes, I creep into her room, especially when I get home from work at night, gaze at her, thank god for her, and often take pics of her when she sleeps! She is addicting.
See you later baby bed.

Helping daddy
One little monkey jumping on the bed.
Finished product complete with rail pads, so Everlee doesn't bump her head, face, mouth, and so she doesn't roll out of bed. Also helps mommy ease into this transition ;)
First night sleep in the bed=success! Girl likes to be right up against the bed and padding, always has. Doesn't she look like a 12 year old in this bed ;)
Took 2 naps getting used to the freedom of her bed. She had fun crawling in and out, turning on the heater and night light, and throwing her Lovey and binky in and out of the bed. After about 15 mins of play time, and watching her in the monitor, she put herself into bed and crashed. Naptime today, she instantly fell asleep, with no shenanigans. What an easy transition for her. Let's see how she does when we say bye bye to her binky. That one may not be so easy :-/
