DONUT talk to me

Since Evs didn't eat much yesterday, and probably needed some extra calories, I thought it would be yummy for us to share her first donut together this morning. She definitely enjoyed the delicious pastry, constantly said MMMMMMM, and whenever I would talk to her, or put my hands near her tray, she would shake her head, say NO and MINE, then push my hand away.
Her Noooooo face
Dipping the donut in the remnants left on her plate. Hate to leave any behind;)
That is the look of pure contentment and satisfaction. Think she shares her mommas passion for sweets :-P

Selfies and Sickie Saturday

Everlee has been obsessed with our phones lately. She grabs them, and says CHEEEEESE. I learned that last week when I went to take her pic, she said cheese, and it dawned on me she learned that from her Aunt Hollie, because I've never said it while taking a picture. Love that!! So here are a few selfies.
Here she is saying cheese
Took these on her own while I was changing her diaper.
These last two were taken the morning of the first Isu football game. The two of us stayed home because Evs was running a temp the day before, and throughout game day. Bummed to miss the first tailgate and game, but couldn't imagine leaving her when she was feeling yucky, I enjoyed our snuggles throughout the day. Those moments are becoming less and less, so soaking them up while I can.
Breakfast was not very appealing to Everlee, so she nibbled on some Cheerios instead.
You know Evs isn't feeling good when she doesn't want to eat. She had a stick of cheese for lunch, and I thought she would be all about the treat we bought at the store.....Popsicles. She's never had one.
Well, I was wrong. She didn't like them in her special holder, and she didn't like them on the stick. Not sure if it was too cold, or the berry pineapple flavor, but she was not a fan. We shall try again when she feels better, and for a special treat.
After her hourish nap, temp was back to normal, and slowly Evs spunk started to return. Hopefully this was just a 24 hour bug, and we kicked its booty outta here! Thanks for the advice from Aunt Hollie, Lindsay W, and Lindsay B. Helps knowing what to look for, and what to do when your peanut is running her first temp.
Also thank you Aunt Brigett for offering to watch Evs, so I could go to the game. Couldn't bring myself to leave her today, but we will take you and Uncle Steve up on your offer one of these days ;)
Feeling better after her nap, and wanting to snack on crackers.
Cyclones didn't win, but I would consider our day of snuggling, singing, going to the store, laughing, playing on the iPad, reading, going on a walk, and bonding as momma and daughter the biggest victory!

Weekend Away

On Friday Rich, myself, and The Howards
hit the open road on the motorcycles, and had one of the best trips we have ever had. The guys kept the destination a secret, and the girls were along for the ride. We ended up in Guttenberg (where we randomly bumped into the Harkens) and stayed there for two nights.
We called this weekend "the trip of many firsts". New bars, new towns, new sayings, new memories and most important of all, new beginnings. We have so much fun with Brenda and Andy, it's so easy being with them, and can't thank them enough for such a memorable weekend. Family isn't always blood, but we think of you both as family, and we love you! You've always got our backs, and have always been there for us.

Riding 2 up makes people smile like this.

Thank you to Aunt Hollie for hanging with Evs Friday, and Saturday morning. Everlee has so much fun with the Smith family!!
Brigett and Steve also spent the night with Evs Friday night, and got her ready for Saturdays activities. Thank you to the two of them for taking the time out of working on their new home, to be with Everlee. The volunteering to care for her, and taking a break from your projects, was much appreciated!!
Dad and Jan did clean up, and stayed with Evs Saturday late morning to Sunday afternoon. I'm so glad Everlee had one on one time with Gpa and Gma, that means a lot to us, and to Evs. Gotta soak up time with them, before they leave in a couple months. Thank you for taking care of her!
Finally, gotta give my husband mad props for such a fun trip, for the laughs, for his attention, and for knowing how important it was for us to go on this fun jaunt. We both needed it!
He's the best, and one of my favorite things to do, is spend time with him.

Hats Off to Ya

Seems like every day Everlee loves to put on a fashion show with anything she can put on her head. She's so proud of herself, and eats up the Oooooh's and Aaaaaah's she receives. Also pretty funny when she pulls the "hat" down so far, it covers her eyes, and she stumbles around like a drunken sailor.
