6 Month Family Pics

WOW! 6 months has gone by so fast with Everlee in our lives. What a blessing to have our baby girl enriching our family and making us laugh on a daily basis.

She's so good when it comes to having her picture taken. Showing off and smiling for the camera and being photogenic comes very easy to her. Those skills, absolutely, positively, 100% come from her Mom.

Unlike me, her father, who likes to smile like I'm driving a plain white van with no windows in it.

See...

These are just a couple of pics that Diana sent to tide us over till the rest of the gallery is done.

PS Just so everybody isn't worrying about it.... Yes, there is a toboggan pic. Plenty of them actually.

Child of God

Last Sunday Everlee was officially made a child of God, and baptized in our Catholic Church. This church is near and dear to us, as this was where we said our marriage vows to one another. Everlee was such a great little girl during mass, and during the baptism after service. Thank you to all that were able to make it to Ankeny to celebrate her special day, to those who stopped over throughout the day to congratulate her, and to those who sent cards, gifts, and well wishes. Those that weren't able to attend, we know were with us in spirit.
Daddy and his beautiful baby doll.
Godparents ~minus Aunt Brigett, who was watching Cousin Tyler play baseball.
Proud parents

Her blessing with holy water.
Officially baptized, and truly a child of God

6 months old-What a blast!

Everlee turned 6 months old today, and our morning started off with a blast......literally. This morning we were sitting on her ottoman chatting and singing, when mommy thought it would be wise to get baby doll out of her pj's and diaper. Usually this is done on her changing table , but we were having so much fun, figured I'd be in the moment and not disrupt our happy time. Next thing I know I feel a warm gush of fluids on my lap. Figured it's probably pee, and got up to rush her to her table. As we were hurrying to the table, there was an explosive blast from this sweet pea, and I realize it's not pee, but poo. Sure enough  it was on my leg, my foot, her blanket, her bum and the floor. Guess that's how she wanted to start off her special day. At least there's a really good memory, and story, attached to her 1/2 bday.

Here she is cleaned up, and ready for her  big day.

Aside from the poopy start to our day, we are delighted that we have such a loving,
Sweet yet fiesty, active, alert, fun, beautiful, and most importantly healthy 6 month old. Mommy and daddy love you more than we ever knew possible, and are so thankful we have you as our miracle baby, our little warrior princess!

Accomplishments this month have included sitting up for 10-15 mins at a time, sleeping in her big girl bed(well napping for sure, long stints of sleeping, not so much) army crawling and slithering all over, and picking up and chewing on anything she can get her hands on.
Next big feat.....food in addition to her breastmilk!! Look for fun pics of this venture to come !!

Baby Blues

The brisk weather has arrived, so we are going on as many walks as possible, before it gets way too cold. Everlee just loves the outdoors, and even at the tail end of a cold, her baby blues light up each time we venture out.

Old Skool

Everlee prefers to wear her hats the old school way, like her father did in the 90's.  (and still to this day)

No flat bills and no tags... Just put it on and cram it down close to your eyes.

Peek A Boo

Everlee is loving playing peek a boo with us. She takes the blanket herself, pulls it over her face, then quickly pulls it down, as we squeal( ok mommy squeals, daddy chants) peek a boo. It's so much fun watching her associate, laugh, and beem with pride at her latest discovery.

Girl power!

Everlee is definitely handling this cold and fever better than I am. Not a big surprise, cuz she's 1000 times stronger.

We will make the best of it while mommy works.... Together, under a mountain of mucus.

Sleeping Sickies

This morning as I left for my class, I had to capture this beautiful moment. My two sickies mimicking one another's sleeping styles, while trying to fight off their colds. So cute, it makes it hard to leave them, especially when the feel yucky.

Sniffles and snuggles

Poor Everlee has had the crud since Wed. Sneezing, runny nose, watery red eyes, and just feeling punky :( this means lots of snuggles with mommy and daddy, lounging and sleeping in the big bed, and even an occasional cartoon here and there. All to try to keep baby doll content, and as happy as possible, and in true warrior princess style, she manages to smile and push thru the discomfort. Once again amazing us both, how tough of a cookie she really is. Daddy said he wished he could take this darn cold away from her, and be sick himself, instead of her. Well looks like Everlee listened to her Daddy, and gave him her cold, so we now have two sickies in the house. It's this Momma's role to kick it into turbo gear, take care of both of her loves, lose countless hours of sleep, make homemade chicken noodle soup, and do whatever these two need to get them back in tip top shape ..... As exhausted as I am, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being a mom, and I love taking care of my family!
This cold is no fun :(
Sleeping and trying to rid this tiny body
Of her cold.
We were suppose to join daddy for tailgating, and then mommy would go to the Texas game. Instead we stayed home , rested, snuggled, rocked, sang, ate pizza with Grandma Coco and Grandpa Rudy, and watched the Cyclones /Texas game. Everlee was extremely fussy at bedtime, and think it was partially due to the poor officiating of that game.
Morning hugs
Such a trooper.
